The Australian Government has awarded WA1 Resources’ (ASX:WA1) Luni Niobium Project, located in Western Australia, major project status for three years.
This recognition by the federal government affirms Luni’s national significance and its potential to strengthen Australia’s economy, build sovereign capability in the critical mineral space and drive regional growth.
Managing Director Paul Savich says the scale and grade of Luni makes it an important niobium discovery globally.
“The designation reinforces the project’s potential to deliver meaningful benefits for Australia and for regional communities and we look forward to continuing our constructive engagement with both the federal and state governments,” Savich says.
Luni was first discovered in November 2022 and is part of the Sambhar prospect area. The project is characterised by a discrete, high amplitude gravity anomaly with a limited but coincident magnetic response.
WA1 Resources is a Western Australian mineral explorer focused on its two projects in the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
