Lodestar Minerals (ASX:LSR) has identified its maiden exploration target for upcoming drilling at the Neds Creek Gold Project in the Yilgarn region of Western Australia.
The exploration target at Neds Creek is estimated to be in the range of 5-7 million tonnes @ 1-1.7 grams per tonne of gold for 250,000-300,000 ounces.
The company intends to conduct drilling at the project in early 2026, focusing on testing strike and dip extensions at Gidgee Flat and Contessa, infill gaps between existing drill lines to support resource estimation, and assess targets between Central Park and Contessa.
Lodestar will also collect metallurgical, structural, and density data needed to make the resource JORC-compliant, while also refining geological domains for subsequent resource modelling.
The company plans to conduct 10,000m of drilling across a number of campaigns next year.
Executive Director Coraline Blaud says Lodestar is encouraged by the technical insights that come from the exploration target, furthering the company’s understanding of the mineralised system.
“The exploration target is based on drilling data to a maximum depth of approximately 250m and has been defined solely within an open-pit framework,” Blaud says.
“While deeper mineralisation potential has been identified on a conservative basis, further drilling is required to adequately assess this opportunity.”
“Our focus remains on systematically building the geological dataset with the objective of supporting potential future JORC-compliant mineral resource reporting, subject to the results of ongoing exploration.”
Lodestar Minerals is a gold and base metal explorer focused on developing its portfolio of assets in Australia, Chile, and the US.
