Lodestar Minerals (ASX:LSR) has completed field activities at its Virgin Mountain Heavy Rare Earth Elements (HREE) Project in Arizona, US.
Lodestar reveals the work confirms continuous surface expression of xenotime-bearing rare earth element (REE) mineralisation.
Field observations also show geological characteristics that resemble the Music Valley HREE Project’s mineral system in California, held by Dateline Resources (ASX:DTR).
According to the company, the finding indicates that the prospect is ‘heavy rare earth enriched’. This is touted to be a ‘milestone finding’ given the ‘premium’ value of HREEs that are typically associated with xenotime.
US Exploration Manager Finn Hunter and Specialist Consultants Robin Wilson and Ross Chandler, all rare earth specialist geologists, discovered the xenotime-bearing REE mineralised structure.
“Lodestar’s US exploration team has successfully confirmed the continuity of the metasomatic-style trend hosting heavy rare earth mineralisation at the Virgin Mountain Project,” CEO and Executive Director Coraline Blaud says.
“The project continues to demonstrate strong exploration potential, and we look forward to advancing into the next phase of work.”
