Lode Resources (ASX:LDR) reports assays of 7.3% tin (Sn) and 6.8% copper (Cu) from a new hanging wall lode at its Montezuma Silver and Antimony Project in Tasmania.
Hole MZS43 returned 0.5m @ 7.30% Sn, 6.8% Cu, 863 grams per tonne silver, 1.8g/t gold, 2.1% antimony, and 4% lead from 133.50m.
The intercept represents the discovery of a fourth commodity suite at Montezuma, expanding the project’s known silver‑antimony endowment into ‘high‑grade’ tin and copper.
MZS43 was the first hole drilled from the hanging wall side of the Montezuma resource, intersecting four separate mineralised lodes in a single hole. The new Moores Lode consists of massive banded mineralisation similar to the main Montezuma Lode.
The hole also intersected the silver‑antimony Montezuma Lode and two lead‑zinc‑silver replacement lodes. Assays remain pending for these three intercepts.
Managing Director Keith Mayes says the results provide Montezuma’s ‘highest tin and copper grades to date’.
“Together with extensions to the Montezuma Lode and the two replacement lodes, this drilling further demonstrates the substantial mineral endowment of the Montezuma project,” Mayes adds.
“We have now identified multiple new zones of mineralisation since the initial resource estimate and these have the potential to materially enhance size and overall project economics.”
The Montezuma project hosts an 8.2 million ounce silver equivalent (AgEq) resource @ 533g/t AgEq using a 200g/t cut‑off. Follow‑up hole MZS44 is testing directly below MZS43.
Montezuma, Tasmania’s only antimony project, sits within Lode’s 155km2 tenement package in the West Coast mining district.
Lode Resources is an Australian explorer focused on critical metals including antimony, silver, gold, and tin across the New England Fold Belt in New South Wales and Tasmania’s West Coast mining district.
