Latitude 66 (ASX:LAT) has begun a 3,000m reverse circulation maiden drilling campaign within the Laverton Gold Project in Western Australia, targeting resource growth.
The campaign will test extensions of the Red Dog prospect’s resource along strike and at depth, and extensions of the historical drilling at the Tin Dog prospect. Results are expected in Q1 2026.
Managing Director Grant Coyle says Laverton’s accompanying exploration target highlights the initial potential gold endowment across Red Dog and Tin Dog.
“Importantly, there are drilling results below the 200m depth cut-off of the exploration target which indicate further growth potential at depth,” Coyle says.
“The speed we are moving to get straight into drilling at the Laverton Gold Project emphasises the excitement within the team for the significant near-term potential, particularly at both Red Dog and Tin Dog, which are located on granted mining leases near several gold processing facilities.”
Last week, the company executed two separate binding options and joint venture agreements to acquire 80% of the Laverton Project. Laverton, covering 253km2 is a prospective gold tenement package with 17 mining tenements, located 7km from Brightstar Resources’ (ASX:BTR) Second Fortune deposit.
Latitude 66 is a diversified gold and critical minerals explorer focused on discoveries in mining jurisdictions in Finland and Australia.
