Larvotto Resources (ASX:LRV) is looking to begin leaching testwork this month (January 2024) at the Merivale prospect, as part of its Eyre Project in Western Australia.
The $15.42 million market capitalisation company says the testwork will be undertaken as part of a series of studies being designed to uncover the best method of extracting rare earth elements (REEs) from mineralisation.
Larvotto reports the studies are being proposed after the company announced today (10 January 2024) it had received results from further ‘positive’ metallurgical studies and TIMA SEM mineralogy testwork on Merivale rare earth oxide (REO) samples.
The company notes results indicate 82% of the REEs report to the minus 7 micron fabrication and that primary REE bearing minerals are from the Bastӓsite group.
Larvotto states further upgrading of the REOs is possible using simple hydrocyclone.
Managing Director Ron Heeks says the TIMA studies have paved the way for target extractive metallurgical processes in the next phase of testwork.
Larvotto is actively advancing its portfolio of in-demand minerals projects including its 1.4 million ounce gold equivalent Hillgrove Gold-Antimony Project in New South Wales and the Eyre project.
The Eyre project sits 30km east of the township of Norseman in Western Australia.
As of 30 September 2023, Larvotto Resources had $1.605 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
