Larvotto Resources (ASX:LRV) is finalising the next phase of drilling at the Metz Mining Centre, located within the Hillgrove Antimony-Gold Project in New South Wales, after receiving further drill results.
Managing Director Ron Heeks says the upcoming phase of drilling will test priority targets beneath historical surface workings and adjacent to previous mining.
“This program will be important in advancing the upgrade of the Metz mineral resource and ore reserve,” Heeks says.
Larvotto says the latest drill results from the Blacklode prospect and associated splays continue to return wide, consistent zones of antimony, gold and tungsten mineralisation.
Some of the key gold-antimony results include 1.4m @ 21.8 grams per tonne gold-equivalent from 263.5m; 31.5m @ 4.35g/t gold-equivalent from 294.9m; and 14.5m @ 2.3g/t gold-equivalent from 79m.
Meanwhile, the latest tungsten results include 0.4m @ 9.09% tungsten oxide form 294.9m; 0.4m @ 4.11% tungsten oxide from 38m; and 0.6m @ 3.68% tungsten oxide form 79.7m.
Heeks adds that the new results confirm the continuity of mineralisation along the Blacklode structure, west of previously reported high-grade drilling results.
“The new results reinforce our confidence at Metz as we continue to explore the system beyond previous drilling and mining,” he says.
“The presence of tungsten enhances the economic potential of the system as we look to build our exposure to critical minerals across our portfolio.”
Larvotto is continuing to prioritise resource growth at Hillgrove, with four diamond drill rigs operating across multiple mining centres, including at Metz, Clarks Gully and Freehold.
At Garibaldi, resource definition drilling is near completion for the proposed open-pit. These activities form a key part of Larvotto’s integrated near-mine and regional exploration strategy.
Follow-up step out drilling is ongoing at the Metz Mining Centre, along the west-northwest and north-west strike extensions of the Blacklode and Syndicate mineralised system.
Meanwhile at Freehold, drilling is continuing to target the historical workings and potential extensions to mineralised structures. Future drilling will test the nearby Smiths and Freehold East prospects.
Deeper drilling has resumed at Clarks Gully, focusing on resource definition and extension to the known mineralisation at depth, and to follow-up on the newly identified footwall mineralisation.
Larvotto Resources is a diversified mineral explorer focused on its portfolio of projects across Australia.
