Kuniko (ASX:KNI) has extended mineralisation at the Geenobby prospect within the greater Commonwealth Gold-Silver Project in New South Wales following a rock chip sampling campaign.
The company will conduct follow-up field mapping and a targeted rock chip sampling campaign to validate interpreted structures, alteration zones, and priority soil anomalies ahead of phase one drilling.
A rock chip sample of 6 grams per tonne gold, 29g/t silver, 88g/t bismuth, 22g/t molybdenum, and 27 parts per million tellurium was collected to the north of the main cluster which has extended the recognised mineralised trend into an untested area. A gold anomaly in this area is open to the north.
Kuniko says this result confirms the continuity of mineralisation beyond the current focus area.
The company collected 279 soil samples and five rock-chip samples at the Geenobby prospect, covering an area where rock chip samples previously reported up to 9.5g/t gold and 215g/t silver.
Kuniko also collected 352 soil samples and 16 rock chip samples at the Gladstone West prospect.
Managing Director Maja McGuire says the results confirm a “coherent, structurally controlled gold-silver system with scale”.
“The new 6g/t gold rock chip result extends mineralisation into a previously untested northern zone and delivers a clear new drill target,” McGuire says.
“Additional soil assay results and mobile magnetotellurics outcomes are expected shortly, providing multiple near-term catalysts ahead of maiden drilling.
“With approvals in place and drilling preparations well advanced, we are on track to commence our first phase of diamond drilling in January 2026.”
As reported by Mining.com.au, Impact Minerals (ASX:IPT) and Kuniko entered a joint venture agreement for Kuniko to earn up to 70% of the Commonwealth Project in New South Wales in October.
Kuniko is a mineral explorer focused on sourcing critical minerals needed for the energy transition. The company’s portfolio is considered prospective for copper, nickel, and cobalt.
