Drilling at MPD Copper-Gold Porphyry Project, British Columbia, Canada

Kodiak Copper drills Ketchan’s ‘best’ copper intersection

Kodiak Copper (TSX-V:KDK) has intersected 283.5m @ 0.70% copper equivalent (CuEq) from 37.5m during its maiden drilling at Ketchan. The deposit forms part of its MPD Copper-Gold Porphyry Project in British Columbia, Canada.

Hole AG-26-019 returned 0.56% copper (Cu), 0.15 grams per tonne gold (Au), and 2.02g/t silver (Ag) across the interval. It includes 108m @ 0.83% Cu, 0.20g/t Au, and 3.20g/t Ag for 1.02% CuEq from 85.5m.

Kodiak describes AG-26-019 as the “best hole” drilled at Ketchan to date. A second hole, AG-26-009, returned 94.5m @ 0.31% Cu, 0.06g/t Au, and 1.38g/t Ag for 0.37% CuEq from 46.5m. The reported intervals are downhole lengths, with insufficient drilling completed to determine true widths.

President and CEO Claudia Tornquist says the Ketchan results exceeded the company’s expectations.

“Our first drilling at Ketchan has delivered an excellent start to the 2026 program with a high-grade, near-surface intersection that exceeded our expectations and represents the best hole ever drilled at this deposit,” Tornquist says.

“We see considerable opportunity to continue growing and upgrading this important deposit at MPD as we continue to unlock the broader potential of MPD.”

Kodiak has reported results from eight holes totalling 1,665m at Ketchan. The drilling is targeting gaps within the existing mineral resource estimate (MRE) and potential extensions beyond the deposit.

Historical drilling intersected mineralisation about 400m south of Ketchan, while an untested induced polarisation chargeability anomaly extends another 1km along trend through an area with anomalous copper-in-soil and surface rock samples.

Kodiak has completed 9,067m across 46 holes at the Ketchan, West, and South deposits during 2026. Elsewhere at MPD, the company plans to test a more than 900m-long chargeability anomaly beside the South deposit that may represent a fault-displaced extension of the porphyry system, as previously reported.

Kodiak plans to complete 16,500m of drilling across MPD to expand existing deposits and test exploration targets, with the campaign expected to continue into the December quarter. All seven deposits included in the MPD resource remain open for expansion, according to the company, with results contributing to an updated MRE planned for the March quarter of 2027.

Kodiak Copper is a Canadian explorer advancing the wholly owned MPD Project in BC. It also owns the Mohave Copper-Molybdenum-Silver Porphyry Project in Arizona, US.
