Kingston Resources grows Southern Ore Zone resource

Kingston Resources (ASX:KSN) reports a 50% increase in the Southern Ore Zone (SOZ) mineral resource estimate at its Mineral Hill mine in New South Wales.

Since the previous estimate, SOZ has grown from 4.36 million tonnes to 6.54 million tonnes, with measured and indicated resources increasing 38% to 3.05 million tonnes and inferred resources expanding 62% to 3.49 million tonnes.

The upgrade brings the total Mineral Hill resource base to 12.07 million tonnes, with contained metal estimated to be 873,000 ounces at 2.20 grams per tonne gold equivalent or 323,000 tonnes at 2.70% copper equivalent.

Kingston notes the increase in tonnage follows the completion of 26 drill holes for 3,413m, providing a platform to increase the ore reserve.

Managing Director and CEO Andrew Corbett says the update demonstrates what can be achieved at Mineral Hill with relatively small amounts of drilling.

“We are now looking at 25,000m of drilling over the next 12 months with the dual purpose of increasing the size of the resource and lifting the proportion of measured and indicated,” Corbett says.

He adds that SOZ remains open in all directions, with drilling currently underway.

With SOZ serving as Kingston’s primary ore source for future underground production, the company says the upgrade enhances potential mining inventory.

The company says drilling continues in the meantime, with updates to be provided in due course.

Kingston Resources is a gold and base metals company focused on its Mineral Hill gold and copper mine in New South Wales.
