King Global advances drilling amid US workforce push

King Global Ventures (CSE:KING) is using wedge drilling to test a deeper geophysical target at its Iron Horse prospect within the Black Canyon Project in Arizona, US.

The work is part of an approximately 4,267m diamond drilling program targeting the Lower Spud Mountain Formation for volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS)-style mineralisation.

A wedge from hole IH-26-03 is being drilled to determine the source of the geophysical anomalies and whether they are associated with a mineralised hydrothermal system.

King says drilling and ongoing geological and X-ray fluorescence analysis have identified prospective volcanic stratigraphy, hydrothermal alteration, geochemical responses interpreted as feeder-style, and several marker horizons.

However, these interpretations remain conceptual, and the company has yet to establish that the anomalies represent VMS mineralisation.

Previous drilling at the Silver Cord prospect, completed in December 2025, intersected polymetallic veins containing silver, gold, lead, zinc, and antimony.

A highlight downhole interval returned 2.7m @ 619.6 grams per tonne silver, 1g/t gold, 0.6% lead, 1.05% zinc, and 375g/t antimony. The company did not provide an estimated true width.

The exploration update follows a White House announcement that the US Department of Energy will invest US$100 million ($141.9 million) in 14 mining schools to increase the number of graduates with mining, minerals, and supply-chain qualifications.

The initiative forms part of more than US$2 billion in mining-related investments announced by the US administration. However, King has not disclosed any direct funding or other material benefit from the package.

Black Canyon covers approximately 16km² in Yavapai County, 100km north of Phoenix, and encompasses 15 former mines, including the past-producing Howard Copper Mine.

King Global Ventures is an exploration company focused on mineral properties in North America. It also owns the Mikwam Gold Project in Ontario, Canada.
