Kincora builds out strategic advisory capacity

Kincora Copper (ASX:KCC) is beefing up its strategic expertise with the appointment of two advisors to its newly formed Advisory Board.

The gold-copper explorer named Brent Cook and Laurie Thomas as the two new additions.

Cook has over 40 years of experience as an analyst and geologist in mineral exploration, mining and related financial sectors.

As an independent consultant he has provided advice and analysis to the likes of Global Resource Investments – now Sprott Global, veteran investor Rick Rule, Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO), Barrick Mining (NYSE:B), Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE:FCX) and Newmont (NYSE:NEM).

He has worked in over 60 countries and founded the Exploration Insights newsletter, which he still contributes to as a Senior Advisor.

Thomas, meanwhile, is an experienced executive, director and consultant in the natural resource and accounting sectors.

She has extensive relationships in the North American capital markets having held several strategic and commercial leadership roles spanning audit and consulting, risk management, First Nation advisory, mining finance and corporate communication.

Thomas has served on several boards as a director and Chair of the Audit Committee, most recently with F3 Uranium (TSX-V:FUU).

Kincora CEO Sam Spring says the new additions will accelerate and increase recognition of the company’s multi element and asset portfolio strategy to create shareholder value.

“Brent is a globally recognised economic geologist and industry veteran with extensive capital markets and technical experience, including having worked on porphyry copper and epithermal gold systems related to the Circum-Pacific, Western North America, the Caribbean Arc, the Tethyan/Carpathian Magmatic Belt, and the Lachlan Fold Belt,” Spring notes.

“Laurie’s strategic and commercial experience, coupled with extensive relationships in the North American capital markets, will similarly add to Kincora’s corporate engagement and strategy.”

The creation of a new advisory board follows the $4 million private placement that was cornerstoned by well known North American investors Rick Rule and Jeff Phillips and completed in early September.

Kincora plans to use the cash raised to fund its ongoing project generation strategy, undertake significant drilling at its 100% owned Condobolin gold-base metals project, as well as for general working capital and corporate purposes.

Further adding to its coffers, Kincora will bank just under $100,000 from the exercise of options issued in conjunction with a September 2023 financing and warrants issued as part of the more recent July 2025 unit financing.

Investors have exercised 78,000 options from the 2023 financing at a cost of $0.75 per share, while 67,000 warrants were exchanged for shares at a cost of C$0.50 ($0.54) each.

Kincora, which has a market capitalisation of $38.3 million, expects significant growth in its exploration activities and further asset level partnerships and is working to secure highly credentialed personnel to assist with this.

To date, the company has secured over $100 million in potential asset-level funding via six partnerships and is advancing talks for further large-scale partner agreements.

These initial deals have supported over 13,500m of drilling and over $6.5 million of partner funded exploration since late 2024, with management fees and exploration ramping up.
