Kali continuing ‘large-scale’ Higginsville soil sampling

Kali Metals (ASX:KM1) will continue a ‘large-scale’ soil sampling program that started in December 2023 across large tracts of the Higginsville Lithium District area.

The $88.65 million market capitalisation company says the program consists of more than 20,000 geochemical soil samples across multiple projects and will continue throughout the majority of 2024.

The program will only cover about 25% of the total Higginsville Lithium District tenement area, allowing additional future soils programs to target potential strike extensions of the lithium results as they develop. 

According to Kali, results will be used to generate targets for future drilling programs. Mapping and sampling of outcropping pegmatite trends will also continue in conjunction with soil sampling.

General Manager of Geology Stuart Peterson says the soil and database analysis programs will form the basis for the first drill campaign.

“The ability to model lithium intervals at depth by re-assaying data contained in the historic Higginsville Lithium District drilling core is a significant advantage to the company. 

This data, generated through historical drilling, will be combined with the surface soil anomalies, enhancing the company’s ability to identify prospective lithium targets. This not only improves the accuracy of the drill targets but also saves the company significant time and resources.”

Kali Metals floated to the ASX on 8 January 2024 via an oversubscribed initial public offering (IPO) which raised about $15 million.
