Kaili Resources (ASX:KLR) is starting aircore drilling for exploration of rare earth elements (REE), at the Lameroo, Coodalya, and Karte areas within the Mallee Project in South Australia.
Kaili Principal Geologist says the drilling program will provide additional information, alongside detailed geological logging, to direct focus for following drilling programs.
“The Department of Energy and Minerals has given approval for exploration drilling of up 300 holes for a total of up to 6,000m.”
The company aims to locate holes on private land with minimum disruptions by identifying areas of potential. To cover a significantly large area, the holes along the roadside are purposely widely spaced.
Kaili plans drilling for a proposal of 30 holes across 600m, averaging a depth of 20m, focusing on Coodalya.
Nearby landholder Australian Rare Earths (ASX:AR3) is currently conducting a Prefeasibility Study within the region using a $5 million co-funding grant from the Australian Government.
Australian Rare Earths tenements in the Murray Basin hold a resource of 236 million tonnes @ 748 parts per million total rare earth oxides.
Kaili has completed a widely spread drilling program to identify areas for infill drilling.
