K2 Gold (TSX‑V:KTO) reports ‘high-grade’ silver, gold, and copper results from 613 rock samples at its Morningstar target in California, US.
The company collected the samples during June and July as part of its 2026 surface exploration program at the Mojave Project in Inyo County. Morningstar sits approximately 7km from the Eastside Gold Trend, where K2 is conducting its current drill program.
Standout results include 2,737 grams per tonne silver (Ag), 4.37g/t gold (Au), and 2.42% Cu from sample C0105155, alongside 1,420g/t Ag, 7.44g/t Au, and 1.34% Cu from sample C0105158. A third sample returned 618g/t Ag and 23.20% Cu.
The sampling program targeted the H Zone, B Zone, and Ignacio targets within the 2,000m by 800m Morningstar mineralised corridor. Results ranged from trace to 9.16g/t Au, trace to 2,738g/t Ag, and trace to 5.35% Cu.
CEO Anthony Margarit says the Morningstar area is a compelling part of the broader Mojave exploration story.
“Its proximity to the historic Cerro Gordo Mine, combined with the scale of the mineralised corridor, high-grade gold, silver, and copper values, and multiple styles of mineralisation associated with a well-defined structural and intrusive setting, make Morningstar a particularly compelling target area,” Margarit notes.
The program identified previously unknown historical workings while confirming widespread polymetallic mineralisation across discrete ‘high-grade’ trends.
Historical drilling totalling approximately 15,000m by previous operators identified significant gold mineralisation across the target zones. Notable intersections include 4.77g/t Au over 28.95m and 80.22g/t Au over 1.53m at the B Zone, plus 1.59g/t Au over 44.20m at Ignacio.
K2 Gold’s exploration team is integrating the new results with previous surface sampling and historical drilling data to determine structural controls on ‘higher-grade’ shoots and assess potential continuity between target zones.
