James Bay Minerals (ASX:JBY) has begun work for listing on the OTC Market, as part of the company’s strategy to target US growth and enhance exposure and investor reach into North American investors.
James Bay, which has a market capitalisation of $94.17 million, notes this listing comes as gold was recently added to the US critical minerals list in March 2025 and silver was added to the US Department of Interior’s draft critical minerals list.
The listing also comes amid rising gold and silver spot prices, with silver recently touching the US$49 per ounce mark and gold surpassing US$4,000 per ounce.
Executive Chairman Matthew Hayes says the demand from North American institutions in the recent $30 million placement bookbuild highlights the scale of US investor interest for the Independence and Shafter projects.
“This initiative will bring James Bay access to a large pool of new investors seeking exposure to silver and gold projects based in the US,” Hayes says.
The Shafter Project, located in Texas, sits within a basin carbonate sequence that extends 1,600km from northern Mexico through southwest Texas. The Independence Project spans 1,861 acres in Lander County, Nevada.
