iTech Minerals (ASX:ITM) aims to advance exploration for copper and gold at the Reynolds Range Project in the Northern Territory, after conducting a site visit following up on “high-grade” rock chips.
The Scimitar copper-gold prospect presents a drill-ready target with a substantial electromagnetic target, coincident multi-element soil anomaly and overlying rock chips, which remains untested by drilling.
Access to drill sites have been established by previous explorers and remains open with logistics for a near-term drilling campaign.
Assay results from rock chip sampling are anticipated later this month or early next month.
In late July, the company’s geologists visited the project to further assess the potential for copper and gold across Reynolds Range.
Managing Director Mike Schwarz says the company followed up on a “high-grade” 182 grams per tonne gold rock chip assay at Sabre and assessed two additional copper-gold prospects at Pine Hill and Stanley that had not been previously visited.
“While in the area we took the opportunity to follow-up with additional sampling and mapping at the Falchion and Trout 2 gold prospects,” Schwarz says.
“Evidence for copper mineralisation was identified at both Pine Hill and Stanley with copper-stained rocks sampled from both locations. Gossanous quartz veins were identified at both Falchion and Trout 2 which have been known to host gold mineralisation within the district.”
The Reynolds Range Project comprises three exploration licences and covers a 375km2 area in the Aileron province.
