Greenstone Resources Burbanks Gold Project

Greenstone delivers ‘high grade’ intercepts and visible gold at Burbanks North

Greenstone Resources (ASX: GSR) has identified multiple ‘high grade’ mineralisation zones from an ongoing RC drilling campaign at its Burbanks Gold Project in Western Australia.

The results, generated from 3 holes within the Burbanks North deposit, include individual grades of up to 59.00g/t, with notable hits including:

  • Hole BBRC343: 10.2m @ 5.45g/t Au from 332.8m, incl.
    • 4.7m @ 10.51g/t Au from 338.0m, incl.
      • 0.5m @ 32.10g/t Au from 338.7m
      • 0.3m @ 45.10g/t Au from 341.9m
  • Hole BBRC342: 2.0m @ 12.85g/t Au from 209.0m, incl.
    • 0.4m @ 59.00g/t Au from 209.9m

Greenstone also reports that the deposit’s deepest drill hole, BBRC345D, has encountered visible coarse gold, with mineralisation remaining open below 450m and assays pending.

Addressing the results, Greenstone Resources Managing Director and CEO Chris Hansen said: “We are pleased to provide an update on our current drilling activities, whereby we can now confirm high-grade mineralisation at the newly discovered and unmined Burbanks North deposit down to a depth of over 450 metres below surface, noting the previous resource at Burbanks North of 359,998 tonnes @ 1.8g/t Au for 20,400 ounces (Inferred) is lower grade and limited to just the top 80 metres.

“we can now confirm high-grade mineralisation at the newly discovered and unmined Burbanks North deposit down to a depth of over 450 metres below surface”

Importantly, we have only drill tested two of the five recently identified plunges at depth. With four reverse circulation pre-collars already prepped for diamond drill tails, we are excited to test the remaining three plunges at depth and continue to build on our existing resources through the addition of high-grade ounces at Burbanks North.”

The company notes that these results extend known mineralisation over 450m below surface, 500m down plunge and 1,200m along strike.

In addition, a further four RC pre-collars have been completed and are awaiting diamond drill tails in order to test diorite contact.

The Burbanks Gold Project is situated 9km south of Coolgardie in Western Australia, and encompasses the Burbanks Mining Centre, along with over 5km of the ‘highly-prospective’ Burbanks Shear Zone.

The Burbanks Mining Centre includes the Birthday Gift and Main Lode underground gold mines, with historic production between 1885 to 1961 totalling 444,600 tonnes @ 22.7g/t Au for 324,479oz gold, mostly from above 140m below surface. Additional open pit and underground mining from the early 1980’s boosted total production past 420,000oz.

With the current drill campaign continuing, Greenstone reports that it will move forward with additional drilling over the coming 6-8 weeks, with assays reported once available.
