Greenbushes grows MRE over CY23

IGO (ASX:IGO) reports in CY23 some 1.43 million tonnes of 6% Li2O spodumene concentrate was produced from Talison’s Greenbushes Lithium Operation.

In reporting the 31 December 2023 JORC code reportable Mineral Resource Estimates (MREs) and ore reserve estimates for its 24.99% indirect interest in Greenbushes, IGO notes a significantly increased MRE (on a 100% basis) from about 347Mt grading 1.5% Li2O in CY22 to 447Mt grading 1.5% Li2O at the end of CY23.

This near 30% MRE tonnage increase of about 99.3Mt, has added to Greenbushes MRE, net of 12 months of mining depletion, about 22Mt in situ of a nominal 6% Li2O saleable spodumene concentrate since the end of CY22.

IGO’s Greenbushes interest is held through Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia – the lithium joint venture partnership between Tianqi Lithium Corporation (51%) and IGO (49%). Albermale Corporation holds a 49% interest in the Greenbushes holding entity, with Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia having the majority interest of 51%.
