Green Technology ticks off ‘critical’ Seymour milestone

Green Technology Metals (ASX:GT1) has been granted two additional 21-year mining leases by the Ontario Ministry of Mines for the group’s Seymour Lithium Project in Canada. 

The company says the three required mining leases deliver full coverage over the proposed lithium mine and infrastructure area. The company adds the granted licences represents a regulatory milestone achievement and a critical step in de-risking the project’s pathway to development. 

Managing Director Cameron Henry says this achievement reflects four years of effort and a strong, collaborative relationship with the Ontario Ministry of Mines. 

“With the mining leases now in place, this allows us to check off another critical requirement in the permitting process, which is well advanced,” Henry says. 

“We remain dedicated to working through the remaining steps to bring Seymour closer to construction and production.”

The company’s Closure Plan remains ongoing with regulatory submissions for the project submitted to the relevant government agencies. 

The Seymour Project, covering 15,140 hectares, is located near the township of Armstrong and 230km north of the city and port of Thunder Bay. The project also contains a resource estimate of 10.3 million tonnes @ 1.03% lithium oxide in the indicated and inferred categories.
