Green Technology eyes further Seymour lithium drilling

Green Technology Metals (ASX:GT1) has restarted diamond drilling in Canada, focusing on upgrading the North and South Aubry deposits resource within its Seymour Project in Ontario.

The program will comprise 7,736m of diamond drilling and is planned to run until December 2023.

A number of priority exploration targets will also be drilled in parallel to the exploration program to the north of North Aubry.

Following this initial drilling program at Seymour, the $114.6 million market capitalisation company will begin a maiden drilling program at the nearby Junior Lithium Project.

This drilling will encompass 2,000m at the Tape prospect, followed by 2,000m at the Despard prospect. This program is planned to begin in the first quarter of 2024.

This news comes after the company wrapped up a 5-month field exploration program over the Eastern Hub, which has led to the confirmation of additional lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatite outcrop across Junior.

LCT spodumene-bearing pegmatites have measured up to 40m in length and 6m in width surface exposure.

Green Technology also reports that ‘significant’ lithia grades of up to 3.23% lithium oxide (Li2O) were returned from rock chip samples with visible spodumene mineralisation.

Commenting on the ongoing activities, Green Technology Metals Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Luke Cox says: “This has been a big exploration season for GT1, with field teams covering a large amount of ground over the Eastern Hub, with proven success at Tape Lake, part of the Junior Project, as a highlight, showcasing immense regional potential.

Proven grades and multiple occurrences hint at stacked pegmatites or a fertile intrusive system, promising significant expansion of GT1’s Eastern Hub resource base.

Furthermore, we’re pleased to announce the renewal of our Exploration Agreement with Whitesand First Nation, showing support for Seymour, Falcon, and Junior projects.

As we conclude our field exploration activities for the season, our attention now shifts back to drilling at our flagship Seymour project and the planning of our maiden drilling campaign at Tape Lake.

The coming months will be busy, with multiple rigs operating simultaneously at our Root Bay deposit and Seymour, with ongoing Seymour development activities in the background.”

The Junior project is located 22km east of Green Technology’s flagship Seymour project, covering 109km-square of tenure.

Green Technology Metals is a North America-focused lithium exploration and development company. As of 30 June 2023, the company had $25.559 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
