Green Technology appoints new board member from EcoPro

Green Technology Metals (ASX:GT1) has appointed EcoPro Innovation General Manager Han Seung Cho to its board of directors as a non-executive director.

Cho’s role at EcoPro previously, helped secure long-term raw material offtake agreements for the company’s first lithium hydroxide manufacturing plant.

Green Technology, which has a market capitalisation of $19.43 million, said in a statement that the appointment will strengthen its strategic partnership with EcoPro, as both companies look to finalise joint ventures for ongoing lithium projects and a proposed conversion facility in Ontario, Canada.

Non-executive Chairman John Young says Cho’s deep expertise in lithium supply chains, strategic partnerships, and raw material procurement will be invaluable as the company advances its relationship with EcoPro.

“Han’s appointment further strengthens our confident long-term outlook for the sector and with EcoPro, this appointment reinforces our shared vision of establishing a fully integrated lithium supply chain in Canada,” Young says.

Cho says Green Technology Metals and EcoPro share a vision for developing a vertically integrated lithium supply chain in Canada.

“Together, we are well-positioned to advance these important projects and play a key role in the future of the North American critical minerals supply chain,” he says.

EcoPro Innovation is a subsidiary of The EcoPro which specialises in lithium-ion batteries and environmental business. EcoPro Innovation has secured a value chain for lithium cells by developing, manufacturing, and processing technologies for lithium compounds which is a core material of lithium cells.

Green Technology Metals is a North America-focused lithium explorer and developer which owns the Root and Seymour projects.
