Green Critical Minerals draws European graphite interest

Green Critical Minerals (ASX:GCM) has been asked to provide samples of graphite produced using its Very High Density (VHD) Technology to European customers.

The company, which has a market capitalisation of $25.5 million, is undertaking a customer qualification program for its technology. 

The program has attracted “strong interest” from several additional potential customers, Green Critical Minerals says. 

One of these customers is a European and UK thermal management solutions provider that services the automotive, aerospace, industrial, laboratory and medical, manufacturing, marine, defence, and consumer electronics sectors. 

Green Critical Minerals is targeting commercialisation of its VHD Technology by the end of this year. 

The aim of the technology is to produce very high density graphite blocks with superior material properties that have never been achieved before in commercial mass market graphite production. 

Green Critical Minerals says it is the only listed company globally with the rights, acquired in 2024, to produce VHD graphite blocks.

VHD graphite is demonstrating its potential as a next-generation solution for advanced heat management challenges — particularly in data centres, artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, and high-performance electronics.

Green Critical Minerals believes it is demonstrating “strong commercial viability, scalability and high-performance ability to significantly outperform traditional heat management materials”.

Combining high density, high thermal diffusivity, a high degree of anisotropy and high thermal conductivity enables VHD graphite blocks to deliver rapid heat movement and efficient dissipation.

This in turn reduces overheating risks in AI processors, data centre servers, semiconductors, and advanced electronics.

The US market was worth $700 billion in 2023, with Green Critical Minerals aiming to disrupt the market with superior graphite blocks at a fraction of the time and cost.

Managing Director Clinton Booth says the company is encouraged by the growing level of inbound interest in its VHD graphite technology.

“This sample request from a well-established European and UK thermal solutions provider reflects the practical relevance of our product in real-world settings, and is a strong signal that VHD graphite is aligning with market needs in sectors such as electronics, defence, and high-efficiency manufacturing,” Booth says. 

“We’ve moved quickly from early-stage development into customer-facing programs, and this is another step forward in validating the commercial potential of our product. Our focus now is on delivering quality samples, supporting rigorous testing, and building long-term partnerships as we move toward first revenue.”

This fresh interest out of Europe follows a freshly inked binding deal to collaborate in the development and provision of thermal management products for GreenSquareDC’s data centres.
