Great Boulder Resources (ASX:GBR) has reported a series of wide, high-grade gold intersections from drilling at its Side Well South prospect near Meekatharra in Western Australia, with the company nearing completion of an initial mineral resource estimate.
The latest assays from 21 reverse-circulation (RC) holes including 24m @ 2.75 grams per tonne gold from 97m and 8m @ 3.88g/t from 144m.
The program defined two parallel lodes with mineralisation open in both directions and at depth.
Managing Director Andrew Paterson said the new results underscored the growing scale of the discovery and marked an important milestone in Great Boulder’s exploration program.
“The Side Well South gold prospect is shaping up very nicely, with several new wide intersections delivered from recent drilling,” Paterson said.
“We are now very close to having sufficient drilling information and geological continuity for an initial resource estimate at Side Well South.”
Paterson said the two parallel lodes, which extend over 300m and 400m respectively, show mineralisation styles similar to the Ironbark and Saltbush deposits further north.
“We anticipate further gold discoveries in this area from ongoing exploration,” he added.
The Side Well Gold Project already hosts an indicated and inferred resource of 668,000 ounces grading 2.8g/t gold across its Mulga Bill, Ironbark, Saltbush and Eaglehawk deposits. The upcoming resource update will incorporate Side Well South for the first time.
Great Boulder has accelerated fieldwork across the broader project, with one diamond and two RC rigs drilling priority targets. The company is also awaiting assays from its latest Ironbark program and final holes at Eaglehawk and Side Well South before finalising geological models.
