Great Boulder Resources (ASX:GBR) has confirmed new gold targets at the Side Well Gold Project in Western Australia.
Recent aircore drilling returned 4m @ 11.55 grams per tonne gold from 40m in hole 25SWAC286, located 4km north of Ironbark.
Great Boulder has followed-up this intersection with further drilling. Assays are expected in mid-November.
Other intercepts include 8m @ 0.67g/t gold from 56m, including 4m @ 1.19g/t gold from 56m which has extended mineralisation at Eaglehawk by 500m, lasting for a total strike extent of 1.5km, and up to 116 parts per million (ppm) bismuth, 137ppm arsenic, 3.6ppm antimony, and 0.84ppm tellurium.
Managing Director Andrew Paterson says the first phase of drilling was intended to test undrilled areas deemed prospective for mineralisation.
“These included geophysical anomalies defined by an IP (induced polarisation) survey earlier in the year as well as fences of holes north of our high-grade Eaglehawk deposit,” Paterson says.
“With this style of drill testing we’re looking for any anomalous gold values as well as associated pathfinder elements.”
The company has begun drilling at Eaglehawk, with the diamond rig currently drilling a deep first hole under the cofunded by the Western Australian Government’s Explorer Initiative Scheme.
Side Well hosts a mineral resource of 668,000 ounces @ 2.8g/t gold.
Great Boulder Resources is a Western Australia-based explorer focused primarily on gold and base metals.
