Great Boulder readies to deliver Eaglehawk’s resource

Great Boulder Resources (ASX:GBR) has received additional drill results in the lead up to a maiden resource estimate for the Eaglehawk deposit, part of the Side Well Gold Project in Western Australia.

Managing Director Andrew Paterson says the company is finalising all the data required for the initial resource.

“Results of 6m @ 121 grams per tonne gold reinforce the view that Eaglehawk has the same style and tenor of gold grades as our high-grade Mulga Bill deposit,” Paterson says.

Some of the latest results include 6m @ 5.10g/t gold from 162m; and 9m @ 5.94g/t gold from 70m, including 2m @ 19.82g/t gold from 74m.

To date, 15 holes have been drilled at Eaglehawk for 3,108m of drilling. The program was planned to continue defining gold lodes at the deposit in sufficient detail to define a mineral resource for the area.

At the Ironbark deposit, 13 reverse circulation holes were completed for 1,726m of drilling. The program tested the southern limits of a gold lode which extended the known strike extent of the deposit by 180m.

Some of the results include 13m @ 2.43g/t gold from 121m, including 7m @ 3.99g/t gold from 127m; and 3m @ 7.27g/t gold from 119m, including 1m @ 19.7g/t gold from 121m.

Great Boulder, which has a market capitalisation of $75 million, is currently compiling gold and multi-element assays from a regional aircore program testing several geophysical targets around Eaglehawk and Ironbark North.

At Ironbark, a diamond rig has also completed a seven-hole program of combined geotechnical and metallurgical drillholes. Geotechnical assessment of the core will be completed in November.

Meanwhile, drilling is ongoing at Mulga Bill East and Flagpole, which continues to extend mineralisation along strike and at depth. A heritage survey is also scheduled to begin in mid-November within Side Well.

Great Boulder Resources is a Western Australia-based explorer focused primarily on gold and base metals.
