Gold and base metals explorer Great Boulder Resources (ASX:GBR) has advanced to the next phase of drilling at its Side Well Gold Project to test several high priority targets.
This latest program will test several targets at the Saltbush, Mulga Bill North and Matilda prospects, as well as anomalies uncovered at the newly acquired Polelle Project that sits 8km east of Westgold’s Bluebird Gold Mine in Western Australia.
Managing Director Andrew Paterson says the reverse circulation rig arrived at the Saltbush prospect last week where another 12 holes have already been drilled.
The next prospect in line for testing is Mulga Bill North with the rig already onsite to undertake a combined reverse circulation and aircore program.
“The Mulga Bill North drilling includes holes drilled from north to south across the cross-cutting dyke, for geological purposes,” Paterson says.
“They are designed to test the thickness of the dyke so we can tighten up our high-grade gold domains in that area, but as the holes are orthogonal to the north-plunging highgrade veins we are also hoping to intersect high gold grades.”
Great Boulder will then start drilling the aircore targets at Mulga Bill North and the Matilda prospect,
Paterson says Great Boulder will also drill the first holes into the new targets at the Polelle Project.
“These will be the first holes drilled in that area for many years, so we’re very keen to see results from Polelle,” he says.
Drilling is expected to take three to four weeks to complete.
Great Boulder is also planning to complete additional heritage surveys over the unsurveyed target areas within the Side Well and Polelle projects.
