Great Boulder impresses with 149.89g/t bonanza gold hit at Side Well

Great Boulder Resources Limited (ASX: GBR) has announced a series of bonanza-grade gold intercepts from phase 3 drilling at the Mulga Bill prospect within its Side Well Gold Project in Western Australia.

The RC drill program, which was completed between late June and early July 2021, delivered a series of ‘extremely high-grade’ intercepts including:

  • Hole 21MBRC034: 14m @ 36.12g/t Au from 91m; including
    • 3m @ 149.89g/t Au from 91m
    • 6m @ 24.33g/t Au from 132m; including
      • 4m @ 34.86g/t Au from 134m
  • Hole 21MBRC036: 2m @ 9.61g/t Au from 100m ()

Hole 21MBRC034 is situated approximately 50m north of hole 21MBRC002, which previously intersected 6m @ 31.2g/t Au from 130m, including 1m @ 136g/t Au from 132m.

These results represent the highest-grade gold intersections to date from the Side Well Project, with GBR reporting that the ‘bonanza zone’ remains open in all directions.

Drilling continues to deliver results at Mulga Bill prospect

Side Well’s Phase 3 RC drill program comprised 15 holes for a total of 2,201m, and was designed for resource definition though the central Mulga Bill area.

To date, assays have been received for six holes, with results for the remaining 9 expected in the coming weeks. GBR reports that it is also awaiting results from a 63-hole aircore drilling program, along with a diamond drilling program, with results for the later expected in October to due extended time requirements for core processing.

RC drilling recommenced at the end of August at Mulga Bill, with targets in the central and northern areas of the prospect expected to be tested through until mid-September.

Given its location, size and the results we’ve seen to date I think Mulga Bill has the potential to have a plus million ounce gold endowment”

Management comments

Great Boulder Resources Managing Director Andrew Paterson said: “These results demonstrate the high-grade potential at Mulga Bill. We’re learning more about the potential of this project with every drill program. Given its location, size and the results we’ve seen to date I think Mulga Bill has the potential to have a plus million ounce gold endowment.”
