Great Boulder Resources (ASX:GBR) has reported gold intersections that extend known mineralisation at its 1.02-million-ounce Side Well Gold Project near Meekatharra in Western Australia.
Extensional reverse circulation (RC) drilling at Mulga Bill East confirmed mineralisation over a strike length of approximately 900m, extending 400m from the existing resource.
Key results from this area include 18m @ 7.36 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 120m, 6m @ 14.80g/t Au from 265m, and 2m @ 13.30g/t Au from 102m.
At Eaglehawk, drilling tested the margins of modelled mineralisation, demonstrating that gold mineralisation continues outside current resource envelopes. Intersections include 4m @ 9.12g/t Au from 80m and 0.64m @ 82.80g/t Au from 265.36m.
The combined Mulga Bill-Eaglehawk deposit now extends over 2.5km of strike length.
Managing Director Andrew Paterson says extensional drilling at Mulga Bill and Eaglehawk has intersected more ‘high-grade’ gold in several areas, extending gold lodes in several parts of the system.
“The latest drilling has defined extensions to the Mulga Bill East area, with results such as 18m @ 7.36g/t Au [approximately] 140m north of the current resource and 4m @ 4.47g/t Au at the southern end,” Paterson says.
“As a result, we have extended the known mineralisation in this area by more than 400m, defining high-grade gold over a total of 900m of strike.”
Great Boulder adds that one diamond drill hole was also completed at Ironbark for geotechnical assessment and metallurgical sampling, returning 5.89m @ 18.10g/t Au from 106.5m.
Besides Side Well, Great Boulder also holds the recently acquired Peak Hill Gold Project, which contains a mineral resource estimate of 481,000 ounces of gold. Two rigs are currently operating at the site, with the company planning to complete 40,000 of RC drilling in the current half-year.
The company notes initial results from Peak Hill are expected in late August.
Meanwhile, drilling remains ongoing at Side Well, with a diamond rig operating at Golden Bracelet and an aircore rig testing regional targets within the Eastern corridor.
