Great Boulder Resources (ASX:GBR) has uncovered a new “high-grade” zone of gold within its Eaglehawk deposit at the Side Well Gold Project in Western Australia.
Further reverse circulation drilling is planned to confirm the extent and orientation of this discovery and to target extensions.
Managing Director Andrew Paterson says the “high-grade” zone interpreted a cross-cutting fault or structure, which runs towards the northwest and dips towards the northeast.
“Within the 105m of mineralisation there are discrete higher-grade intervals which appear to correspond to known west-dipping veins,” Paterson says.
“This new high-grade zone is interpreted to have structural parallels to the high-grade link structures at Musgrave Minerals’ Break of Day discovery near Cue which contained the bulk of the gold ounces in that resource.
“This is the first link structure to be specifically targeted by Great Boulder with holes drilled towards the northeast.”
Drilling returned an intercept of 105m @ 2.41 grams per tonne gold from 95m, as well as 3m @ 18.85g/t gold from 102m; 13m @ 5.17g/t gold from 144m; and 6m @ 5.08g/t gold from 180m.
Located in the Meekatharra gold field, the Side Well Project hosts a mineral resource of 668,000 ounces @ 2.8g/t gold. This estimate will be included in an updated global mineral resource estimate, scheduled for December 2025.
