GR Engineering Services (ASX:GNG) has executed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreement with Develop Global’s (ASX:DVP) wholly owned subsidiary Venturex Sulphur Springs.
The contract is valued at $275 million, with GR Engineering (GRES) appointed as the contractor for EPC services at the Yitirrti Copper-Silver-Zinc Project.
Yitirrti, formerly known as the Sulphur Springs Project, is located around 144km southeast of Port Hedland in Western Australia.
GR Engineering was named the preferred contractor for EPC work at the Yitirrti Project in June 2026. Early works and the ordering of long-lead items had begun prior to this announcement.
GR Engineering Managing Director Tony Patrizi says the company is pleased to be “working again with the Develop team”.
“This project further enhances GR Engineering’s reputation as the leading minerals processing EPC contractor in Australia across a broad range of commodities,” Patrizi says.
Develop Global Managing Director Bill Beament says awarding GR Engineering this contract is “another major milestone” for the company’s path to production and cash flow at the project by mid-2028.
“GRES is the leader in its field and has done an outstanding job at Woodlawn, where it refurbished and upgraded the processing plant,” Beament says.
“The plant has already achieved steady-state throughput rates and is performing extremely well, particularly given the short time it has been operating.
“Construction and underground development at Yitirrti is already well advanced and long-lead items have been secured. The project is funded and offtake contracts are in place with Trafigura.”
The total capital cost for the Yitirrti Project is estimated at $450 million, including the processing plant.
The processing plant has a nameplate annual capacity of 1.5 million tonnes, producing separate copper-silver and zinc concentrates.
Construction is progressing on schedule, with access roads and earthworks advancing. Underground development is running ahead of the construction schedule. The first concentrate is expected to be delivered in the June quarter of 2028.
Develop Global has organised offtake agreements with Trafigura, which covers copper and zinc concentrates sourced from Yitirrti.
