Golden Deeps targets copper-gold at Havilah

Golden Deeps (ASX:GED) has begun a diamond drilling program at its Havilah Project in New South Wales, focusing on two distinct types of copper-gold zones.

Three initial holes have been designed to test two areas of copper mineralisation identified at the Hazelbrook and Hazelbrook North targets, where prominent soil anomalies were previously defined via rock chip sampling.

Up to seven additional holes will be drilled at sub-surface anomalies within the Sofala Volcanics, which Golden Deeps says could be prospective for copper-gold sulphide mineralisation.

All told, the program is expected to total between 1,260m and 2,500m of drilling.

Located on the eastern portion of the Lachlan Fold Belt, the Havilah Project sits roughly 20km south of Mudgee, and spans 140km2.

Golden Deeps believes the extensive surface copper mineralisation at the project, along with strong sub-surface anomalies, represent a significant porphyry- or volcanic-hosted copper-gold target zone.
