Emerging explorer and developer Golden Deeps (ASX:GED) reports it has recorded an ‘exceptional’ 90m intersection of copper-silver (Cu-Ag) mineralisation at the Khusib Springs Deposit, located within the Otavi Mountain Land Copper District in Namibia.
The company says this result comes from the first deeper diamond drillhole completed at the deposit, with KHDD006 intersecting 90m @ 0.8% CuEq (0.3% Cu, 52.3g/t Ag, 0.06% Zn, 34.4g/t Sb) from 398m including 69m @ 1% CuEq (0.4% Cu, 63.7g/t Ag, 0.07% Zn, 42.1g/t Sb) from 402m.
The thick zone of Cu-Ag mineralisation intersected by KHDD006 is around true width and occurs across the brecciated T3 dolomite and T2 limestone contact which the company reports is in the same position as Khusib Springs located up-dip across the interpreted wrench fault.

Golden Deeps has also witnessed a significant jump in its share price on the ASX, rising 9.999% to $0.011 as of 9:20am AWST.
It also reports the Khusib Springs mine produced 300,000 tonnes @ 10% Cu and 584g/t Ag before closing in the early 2000s.
A second ‘high-grade’ zinc intersection was produced from a footwall structure of 3m @ 5.8% Zn, 1.8% Pb, 11.5g/t Ag and 12.9g/t Ab from 502m downhole. The company reports this highlights the potential for ‘high-grade’ zinc resources at Khusib Springs, and this is supported by the previously announced shallow intersection in KHDD001.
Golden Deep states a second deeper hole KHDD007 was drilled 30m to the southwest of KHDD006 noting it intercepted a very thick zone of sulphide mineralisation from 374m to 535m downhole including zones of disseminated and euhedral crystals of tennantite and chalcopyrite across the T3 dolomite and T2 limestone brecciated contact at around 430m. The hole also intersected a lower zone of ‘well distributed’ medium grained sphalerite from 487m to 500m downhole.
Drill core from KHDD007 has been submitted for analyses at Interbek laboratories and the results are expected early in 2023. The company reports evaluation and modelling of the results of this program as well as modelling of the results from the ongoing geophysical programs along strike from Khusib Springs will lead to follow-up programs to expand the resource potential of the deposit, and test for repeats and extensions of the mineralisation along strike.
Golden Deeps is an emerging explorer and developer focused on the Otavi Mountain Land Copper District of Namibia. The project includes ‘major’ historic mines such as the Tsumeb deposit that produced 30 million tonnes of ore grading 4.3% Cu, 10% Pb and 3.5% Zn from 1905 to 1996.
The focus of the company’s exploration and development program are the Abenab ‘high-grade’ vanadium-zinc-lead resource, the Nosib ‘high-grade’ vanadium-copper-lead-silver discovery, and the Khusib Springs ‘very high-grade’ copper-silver deposit.
