Global Uranium gears up to spin drill bit at Pine Ridge

Global Uranium and Enrichment (ASX:GUE) has scheduled drilling for July at its flagship Pine Ridge Uranium Project in the Powder River Basin in Wyoming, US.

The initial exploration program will cover 38,000m of drilling, with targets identified from historical drilling completed by Conoco and Stakeholder Energy.

To understand the geological characteristics of the stacked sandstones and the paleo-river system at Pine Ridge, previous explorers identified 350 sandstone outcrops on south and west zones of the project area.

Managing Director Andrew Ferrier says the company is focused on expediting exploration activities at Pine Ridge.

“Our team has reviewed the historical drilling completed by Conoco and Stakeholder along with assessing key geological features and have identified numerous priority targets for our maiden drill program at Pine Ridge,” Ferrier says.

“We have allocated 38,000m of drilling to methodically test these priority areas and work toward unlocking a sizeable exploration target at Pine Ridge.”

Global Uranium and Enrichment, which has a market capitalisation of $26.96 million, is enlisting SOLA Project Services to provide technical support for the project. SOLA Principal Bryan Soliz has more than 25 years of exploration and production experience working in the Powder River Basin.

Drill and geophysical contractors are still to be appointed, with drilling to commence after the expected permit approvals in late June.

Global Uranium and Enrichment is a uranium explorer and developer with a portfolio across uranium districts in North America.
