GBM Resources (ASX:GBM) has commenced a stage two, multi-rig drill program at the Twin Hills Project in the Drummond Basin, Queensland, building upon ‘outstanding’ results from stage one which extended the scale opportunity for the project.
Stage two of this program consists of 50,000m of drilling, prioritising the definition and expansion of near-surface mineralisation for future open pit mining and supporting future Prefeasibility work.
Stage one of the drill program returned 52m @ 2.77 grams per tonne gold from 299m at Lone Sister, outside of the existing mineral resource estimate (MRE) and 37m @ 5g/t gold from 225m, more than 100m outside of the existing MRE. GBM notes that this demonstrates the significant opportunity at Twin Hills.
CEO Daniel Hastings says that “stage one drilling at Twin Hills delivered significant extensions to the known mineralisation and provided a greater understanding of the geology and controls to mineralisation, allowing the company to develop an aggressive stage two drilling program, targeting significant resource growth at Twin Hills”.
The company is targeting extensions along strike and at depth, improved high-grade continuity, and new targets below 400m from surface in this program.
Samples for project de-risking will also be taken for metallurgical, geotechnical, and waste rock characterisation studies, with metallurgical samples to build upon process flowsheet metallurgical performance validation work that is currently underway.
GBM Resources is an exploration and development company focused on gold deposits in Queensland.
