Flynn Gold (ASX:FG1) has confirmed ‘high-grade’ silver-lead-zinc mineralisation beneath historical workings at the Silver King Trend in western Tasmania.
Maiden drilling returned 1.0m @ 1,349.9 grams per tonne silver equivalent (AgEq) from 101.0m in hole SKDD001.
The intersection featured a higher-grade core of 0.4m @ 3,087.7g/t AgEq containing 2,450g/t silver, 29.5% lead, and 9.0% zinc.
The five-hole diamond drilling program intersected mineralisation in all holes and represents the first modern drilling along the Silver King Trend in more than 80 years.
“This maiden drilling program has delivered exactly what we set out to achieve,” Managing Director Neil Marston says.
“Beyond confirming high-grade silver-lead-zinc mineralisation beneath the historical Silver King and South King mines, the program has significantly improved our understanding of the geological controls on mineralisation along the Silver King Trend.”
The drilling confirms an emerging geological model of structurally controlled vein systems hosting multiple ‘high-grade’ shoots along the 1.6km Silver King Trend.
Hole SKDD003 at South King returned 0.75m @ 797.6g/t AgEq from 102.8m and 1.0m @ 478.3g/t AgEq from 104.1m, though intervals of core loss prevent reporting as a continuous intercept. SKDD005 delivered 0.24m @ 609.9g/t AgEq and 0.2m @ 751.5g/t AgEq.
The company has identified four interpreted ‘high-grade’ shoot target areas along the Silver King Trend — the minimally drilled Silver King and South King prospects, plus the undrilled Fahey’s Gap and Sunrise-Bell targets.
Beyond the Silver King Trend, 44 of 74 rock-chip samples from historical workings across the broader North Henty Project returned grades exceeding 311g/t AgEq, with 13 samples exceeding 933g/t.
Many came from historical mines developed on vein trends subparallel to the Silver King Trend.
“The program has identified multiple high-priority targets along the 1.6-kilometre Silver King Trend, with significant portions of the trend remaining untested by modern drilling,” Marston adds.
“These results give us increasing confidence that additional high-grade mineralisation can be targeted along strike and at depth.”
The company plans geological and structural modelling, follow-up mapping and sampling of parallel vein trends, and generation of priority drill targets.
