Firefox Gold (TSX-V:FFOX) reports ‘high-grade’ gold intercepts from six drill holes at its Mustajärvi Gold Project in Finland.
Hole 26MJ021 returned 1m @ 124 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 102.4m depth, part of a broader 2m interval averaging 63.19g/t Au. The same hole returned 4m averaging 1.64g/t Au from 77.65m, including 1m @ 5.04g/t Au.
Nearby hole 26MJ022 delivered 6m averaging 4.38g/t Au from 128m, including 1m @ 23.5g/t Au from 132m.
Five holes evaluated infill and step‑out targets at the East Zone, while one hole drilled a step‑out at the Northeast Zone. The drilling continues to provide data for an anticipated mineral resource estimate.
CEO Carl Löfberg says the ‘high‑grade’ intercepts demonstrate that strong mineralisation from the heart of the East Zone continues down dip along the shear zone.
“Our drilling continues to close gaps and push boundaries at both of the main zones at Mustajärvi (East and Northeast), as part of the core work for completing our maiden resource estimate,” Löfberg says.
“The high-grade intercepts in holes 26MJ021 and 26MJ022 are significant because we can see in cross section that these new intercepts demonstrate that the strong mineralisation from the heart of the East Zone continues down dip along the shear zone.”
The Mustajärvi Project lies approximately 17km east of Kittilä in Lapland. Total drilling on the project now reaches 28,721m.
The strongest intercept occurred at 102.4m depth, where gold is associated with semi‑massive pyrite hosted in strongly altered intermediate tuffites. Multi‑element assays show association between gold and elevated bismuth, tellurium, and cobalt.
Other holes in the program returned lower‑grade intercepts. Hole 26MJ018 returned 2m @ 0.59g/t Au, while hole 26MJ020 returned 2m averaging 0.55g/t Au from 27m.
Firefox Gold plans to test deeper targets later in the program and has been drilling peripheral to the expected resource area to establish expansion targets for 2027.
