FireFly Metals (ASX:FFM) has reported ‘high-grade’ drilling results from its Green Bay Copper-Gold Project in Canada, with intersections including 11.5m @ 11.1% copper (Cu) and 2.1 grams per tonne gold (Au).
Recent underground drilling from the upper volcanogenic massive sulphide zones returned multiple ‘high-grade’ copper and gold intersections.
Intersections include 18.9m @ 8.2% copper equivalent (CuEq), including 7% Cu and 1.3g/t Au. A further zone of 11.1m returned 12.1% CuEq, including 9.5% Cu and 2.4g/t Au in hole MUG26-079.
Additional results include 13.5m @ 11.1% CuEq (8.4% Cu and 2.6g/t Au) in hole MUG26-083, and 19.8m @ 7.2% CuEq (6.6% Cu and 0.7g/t Au) in hole MUG26-086.
Drilling from the ‘high-grade’ Core Zone returned 65.3m @ 4.3% CuEq (3.6% Cu and 0.7g/t Au) in hole MUG26-060. The Core Zone remains open at depth, with the deepest hole to date returning 49.0m at 6.1% copper equivalent.
Managing Director Steve Parsons says the results will feed into the upcoming resource update and support the company’s strategy to grow measured and indicated categories.
“These high-grade infill drilling results, such as 11.5m at 11.1% copper, will feed straight into the resource update and support our strategy to grow the all-important Measured and Indicated category,” Parsons adds.
Underground drilling primarily aims to increase mineral resources in higher-confidence measured and indicated categories, which is pivotal to economic studies.
Six rigs continue operating underground at the Ming Mine, while three rigs are conducting regional exploration drilling.
The results will be incorporated into an updated mineral resource estimate that will underpin economic studies set for release this month. A preliminary economic assessment remains on track for completion by the end of August 2026.
FireFly Metals expects to declare a maiden ore reserve before the end of 2026.
