Faraday Copper (TSX:FDY) continues to expand the near-surface mineralisation in the American Eagle prospect, part of the Copper Creek Project in Arizona, US, after receiving the final nine drillholes from a phase three program.
The copper-focused explorer has completed nearly 40,000m of incremental drilling beyond the current mineral resource, which represents an opportunity to enhance the Copper Creek Project’s value by increasing the open pit mineral resource.
Faraday expects the updated resource, alongside a preliminary economic assessment, to be released in Q3 2025.
CEO Paul Harbidge says the work for the updated resource estimate will support an updated PEA with the goal of enhancing Copper Creek’s project economics.
As part of the phase three drilling program, five holes were drilled in the American Eagle area intersecting 45.64m @ 0.71% copper from 166.25m and 60.39m @ 0.43% copper from 206.65m, including 17.75m @ 1.04% copper.
At the Sunrise Trend prospect, a reconnaissance hole uncovered a previously undrilled copper mineralised porphyry system, intersecting 57.98m @ 0.23% copper from 1,029.21m, including 15.21m @ 0.43% copper from 1,035.91m.
Harbidge adds that the company continues to see “excellent” exploration results at the project.
“Surface sampling and a reconnaissance drill hole at the Sunrise Trend have highlighted the potential for a new porphyry system,” he says.
“Across the property there are multiple untested breccias, which crop out at surface and we are excited to continue to unlock value with our next phase of drilling.”
The Copper Creek Project, a 3km-long porphyry deposit, is host to the American Eagle, Old Reliable, Sunrise Trend, and Horsecamp prospects. The American Eagle area, covering 800m by 1,000m, is host to numerous prospective breccias and porphyries which have strong copper geochemical signatures.
