Faraday Copper (TSX:FDY) is focused on strengthening project advancement at its Arizona assets with the appointments of Jeffrey Cornoyer and Cynthia Salas.
Cornoyer has been appointed as the company’s Vice President and General Manager, bringing more than 20 years of experience in exploration, technical services, and open-pit copper operations as a mining engineer and economic geologist.
He most recently served as the General Manager of Technical Services for ASARCO and Minera México, overseeing mine site technical functions across operations in Mexico and the US.
Prior to this role, he served as General Manager of ASARCO’s Ray Operations and Copper Basin Railway.
He has held numerous senior technical and operational leadership roles with ASARCO and Hudbay Minerals throughout his career, with a clear focus on resource expansion, mine planning modernisation, and operational improvement initiatives.
Meanwhile, Faraday has appointed Salas as the company’s Director of Human Resources.
Salas has more than 20 years of experience as a human resources professional, focused on supporting mining, industrial, and construction organisations in the US.
She has held senior human resources leadership roles with companies including Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE:FCX), CMOC Group (HK:03993), Vulcan Materials (NYSE:VMC), and Rango.
CEO Paul Harbidge says Faraday is pleased to welcome Cornoyer and Salas to the team at a “critical stage” in the company’s growth.
“Jeff brings deep operational, technical, and leadership experience across large-scale copper operations, while Cynthia adds extensive expertise in human resources, organisational development, and workforce strategy,” Harbidge says.
“As we advance the closing of the proposed acquisition of the San Manuel Property and integrate our copper projects, growing our team will be instrumental in the evolution of the company.”
The company has also updated several senior management titles to align with its future growth and team structure.
This includes Thomas Bissig assuming the title of Vice President of Geology, Zach Allwright assuming the title of Vice President of Technical Services, and Aaron Cohn assuming the title of Vice President of Capital Projects.
Faraday Copper is focused on its flagship Copper Creek Project, located 80km northeast of Tucson, Arizona. The project comprises 80km2 of private land, patented and unpatented mining claims, as well as state prospecting permits.
