Faraday eyes opportunity to enhance Copper Creek’s value

Faraday Copper (TSX:FDY) is eyeing new targets within the Copper Creek Project area in Arizona, US that represent an opportunity to enhance its value, after conducting over 30,000m of incremental drilling.

A phase three drilling program is continuing within the project, focusing particularly on near-surface mineralisation in the American Eagle and Rum areas.

This news comes after Faraday Copper received results of five drillholes from the ongoing program, with two holes expanding the known near-surface mineralisation at American Eagle.

Some of the latest assays include 118.28m @ 0.30% copper and 1.14 grams per tonne silver and 109.42m @ 0.41% copper, 0.007% molybdenum, and 1.24g/t silver.

CEO Paul Harbidge says these results validate further near-surface mineralisation above the existing resource in the American Eagle area, including uncovering “high-grade” copper at the Boomerang breccia.

“Moreover, significant copper was identified in veins outside the breccia domains,” Harbidge says.

“All 15 drillholes, reported in the American Eagle area to date, have intersected copper mineralisation above cut-off grade with numerous high-grade zones present.

“Additionally, drilling has demonstrated exploration potential well outside of the resource area, including east of Area 51 and at depth in the Rum area.”

To date, through the combined phase two and three drilling programs, which are not included in the mineral resource estimate, Faraday Copper has released results from 73 drillholes.

Faraday copper drilled 46 holes on new targets that are entirely outside of the resource boundary, as well as an additional 20 holes to test extensions to the mineral resource. A further seven holes were drilled within the resource area, targeting expansion of the higher-grade cores.

The assay results for additional drillholes completed will be released as they are received, analysed, and confirmed by the company.

American Eagle covers 800m by 1,000m and is host to numerous prospective breccias and porphyries which have strong copper geochemical signatures. Meanwhile, Rum is located 700m northwest of the resource area and features several breccias and porphyries.

Faraday Copper is a Canadian explorer focused on advancing its flagship copper project in Arizona, US. The Copper Creek Project is considered one of the largest undeveloped copper assets in North America with district-scale exploration potential.

Copper demand is projected to grow long-term and supply-side concerns are increasing. The copper supply and demand conditions are anticipated to remain tight for this year, as the critical minerals’ spot price sits at US$4.23 per pound, as of this morning (9 January).

Copper’s spot price is holding at the highest levels in more than three weeks, as Trading Economics says investors are looking to China for potential catalysts.

Faraday Copper will be exhibiting at this year’s Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) event being held from 2-5 March in Toronto, Canada.

The annual award winning convention brings together up to 30,000 attendees from over 130 countries for its educational programming, networking events, as well as business and investment opportunities.
