Faraday Copper (TSX:FDY) has received drill results from an ongoing drilling program at the Copper Creek Project in the US, which further validates the potential to define an open pit mineral resource.
CEO Paul Harbidge says the company expects to deliver an updated resource estimate and technical study in the second half of this year, which will include nearly 40,000m of drilling from the phase two and three programs.
As part of the phase three program, three holes each were drilled at the American Eagle and Rum target areas, while one was drilled in the Horsecamp target area.
Faraday reports drillhole FCD-24-094 intersected multiple mineralised intervals, which provides further confidence in the potential to define the open pit resource in the American Eagle area.
Harbidge says the results expand the near surface mineralisation and unlock further economic value for Copper Creek.
“Drilling at the Rum and Horsecamp areas confirmed our thesis that these mineral systems are exposed at a shallow level and we see exploration potential at depth,” Harbidge says.
The American Eagle area, covering 800m by 1,000m, is host to numerous prospective breccias and porphyries which have strong copper geochemical signatures.
Faraday notes the latest results provide a broad framework of the geology, structure, and alteration, while also confirming the potential for significant near-surface copper mineralisation.
The remaining assays are expected from the American Eagle area and district exploration targets and will be released once they are received, analysed, and confirmed by the company.
Faraday Copper is a junior mineral explorer focused on developing its Copper Creek Project in Arizona, US.
