Faraday discovers blind Winchester breccia at American Eagle

Faraday Copper (TSX:FDY) has uncovered blind Winchester breccia through a third phase drilling program at the American Eagle area, within the Copper Creek Project in Arizona, US.

The term ‘blind’ means that this breccia body is not visible on the surface — only found by drilling underground.

As part of the program, four holes were drilled in the American Eagle area and one in the Rum area. 

Faraday says the discovery of the Winchester breccia supports the potential for identifying additional breccia, which do not outcrop at surface, across the property. 

CEO Paul Harbidge says the drilling results continue to expand the near-surface mineralisation in the American Eagle area. 

“These results, together with previous phase three drilling, continue to fill the gap between Mammoth and the American Eagle area and demonstrate that copper mineralisation occurs in broad zones outside the high-grade breccias in the American Eagle area,” Harbidge says. 

“Our phase three drill program was completed in mid-April 2025, with a few pending drillhole assays, and we expect to deliver an updated technical study and mineral resource estimate near the end of the third quarter of this year. 

“We envision the potential for a significant step change in metal output through enhanced project scale, while maintaining low initial capital, long mine life and robust margins.”

Some of the latest drilling results include 154.29m @ 0.26% copper and 1.07 grams per tonne silver, including 22.23m @ 0.42% copper and 1.82g/t silver; and 57.87m @ 0.37% copper and 0.94g/t silver, including 18.58m @ 0.66% copper and 1.59g/t silver. 

Faraday expects to deliver an updated resource estimate, alongside a preliminary economic assessment at Copper Creek near the end of Q3 2025. 

The updated resource estimate will include drill results from the second and third phase drilling programs. All of the existing data is being integrated into a technical framework to inform that updated resource estimate and preliminary economic assessment. 

Vice President of Projects and Evaluations Zach Allwright says the updated assessment will be a key milestone for the company. 

“Since the 2023 PEA, the company has enhanced the technical datasets across all critical areas, most notably the positive metallurgical results that confirmed high copper recovery through coarse grind and flotation,” Allwright says. 

“These results, in conjunction with the additional drilling focused on near-surface resource growth, support the proposed strategy of increasing the scale of the asset while maintaining a low capital cost profile. 

“We are excited to demonstrate the projects’ potential as one of the largest future sources of copper within the United States.”
