Global tungsten producer EQ Resources (ASX:EQR) and science insights firm Voconiq are finalists in two categories in the Premier of Queensland’s 35th Export Awards for 2025.
Finalists from 46 companies are competing across 15 categories, with small and family owned businesses featuring strongly in this year’s record 103 applications.
Sector categories include manufacturing and advanced materials, resources and energy, sustainability, e-commerce, and international health, among others.
Among the list of first-time finalists are mining safety equipment specialists Nome Services, and pilot training experts Airways Aviation.
Winners, including the prestigious Queensland Exporter of the Year, will be announced at the Export Awards Dinner in Brisbane on 10 October.
The winners in each national category will represent Queensland at the Australian Export Awards in Canberra in November.
Now in their 35th year, the Export Awards are proudly delivered by Trade and Investment Queensland, the State’s global trade and investment agency.
The awards recognise Queensland businesses for their innovation, resilience and determination as they strive to grow and expand their global footprint.

In the Resources and Energy category, the finalists include EQ Resources (Mareeba), Mineral Technologies (Gold Coast), Valenhold (Brisbane), and Voconiq (Brisbane).
EQ Resources is again a finalist for the Sustainability and Green Economy category alongside Built Environment Collective (Brisbane) and Hall Contracting (Sunshine Coast), among others.
In the Technologies category, finalists include Megaport (Brisbane) and TechnologyOne (Brisbane), while Naomi Boughen, co-founder and Service Delivery Director at Voconiq is also a finalist in the Women in International Business category.
Trade and Investment Queensland CEO Justin McGowan says the awards showcase the innovation, resilience, and ambition of Queensland exporters.
“Queensland businesses are outpacing the competition, scaling globally from every corner of the state,” McGowan says.
“From first-time exporters to seasoned global players, these finalists show the world what Queensland is capable of, smart, sustainable, and competitive. They’re not just exporting products; they’re exporting Queensland’s reputation for excellence.”
Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates says there is a significant number of first-time and regional exporters this year.
“They are the beating heart of Queensland’s export sector, turning local innovation into global success, creating jobs and strengthening communities across the state,” she says.
