At Montauban Gold-Silver Project in Québec, Canada

ESGold follows ‘encouraging’ sulphide clues at Montauban

ESGold (CSE:ESAU) has intersected sulphide-bearing intervals at its Montauban Gold-Silver Project in Québec, Canada, as its diamond drilling program passes 2,000m.

As of 15 September, the company had drilled approximately 2,030m across 19 holes of its planned 5,000m campaign. About 400 core samples have been submitted for analysis, with assays pending.

Core logging in holes MM-26-03, MM-26-04, and MM-26-11 has identified pyrite, pyrrhotite, and galena within or beside quartz-carbonate veins, altered gneiss, and deformed intervals.

CEO and Director Gordon Robb says the drilling is providing “encouraging” geological information to guide further exploration.

“We are repeatedly encountering alteration, quartz-carbonate veining, and sulphide-bearing intervals within the geological environment associated with the historic Montauban mineralised system,” Robb says.

Nine holes have intersected historical underground workings or voids, helping the company reconcile new drilling with the layout of the former mine.

The program initially aims to test mineralisation along the main mineralised structure before extending beyond the historical workings to investigate additional targets.

Building on the geological model

The drilling builds on an expanded geophysical survey and updated 3D geological model. That model covers about 70km² and incorporates 1,637 drill holes alongside historical assays, regional sampling, geological mapping, and structural interpretations.

It also includes ambient noise tomography survey data to interpret subsurface geology but does not independently establish mineralisation.

ESGold says it plans to combine the new drilling observations and pending assays with this information to refine its model and prioritise shallow and deeper targets.

Core logging and sampling continue, with assay results to be released after review and validation.

ESGold is a Canadian pre-production mining company advancing construction and exploration at its flagship Montauban Gold-Silver Project.
