Errawarra Resources starts nickel exploration at Andover West Project, Western Australia

Errawarra Resources (ASX:ERW) reports it has started exploration activities at its Andover West Nickel Project in the West Pilbara region of Western Australia, following the grant of tenement E47/4352 earlier this month.

Errawarra has begun mapping and reconnaissance work at Andover West with a heritage survey coordinated by the Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation to be conducted over the area hosting the priority electromagnetic (EM) target on 23 September.

A fixed loop electromagnetic (FLEM) survey is also scheduled to take place over the target area before the end of the month.

A fixed loop electromagnetic (FLEM) survey is also scheduled to take place over the target area before the end of the month

This survey will be carried out by a Southern Geoscience field team over 1 to 2 days using a more advanced FLEM system than was originally used to define several EM anomalies including the priority target in 2006.

Andover West covers an area of 100km-square in a favourable geological setting for nickel, close to Azure Minerals’ (ASX:AZS) Andover Project, which hosts a Mineral Resource of 4.6Mt @ 1.11% Ni, 0,47% Cu and 0.05% Co.

Completion of the heritage survey should provide clearance for Errawarra to commence ground disturbing activities including drilling on the Project.

Errawarra has engaged a drilling contractor and anticipates that the initial program comprising core drilling of up to 2 holes followed by downhole EM surveying will start in October, subject to the usual regulatory approvals.

Downhole EM surveying is considered a superior targeting tool compared to surface EM surveying in massive sulphide exploration as it can provide a more accurate vector to massive sulphide targets.

Follow-up exploration activities will be planned as warranted by assay and downhole survey results.

Errawarra Resources is an Australian Exploration Company with 4 projects across Western Australia including the Andover West nickel project, Fraser Range nickel-copper project, Binti Binti gold project and Errabiddy nickel-copper project.

The name Errawarra was given to the company in 2021 by the Jigalong People, who are the custodians of the Jigalong Aboriginal Reserve in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Erra means red, and warra means black, representing the red sands of the Martu lands and the black manganese on the surface within the Jigalong Aboriginal Reserve.
