EQ Resources (ASX:EQR) has appointed Michael Nossal as an independent non-executive Chairman to its board of directors, effective as of today (31 March).
Nossal will be succeeding Oliver Kleinhempel, who will continue on the board as a non-executive director.
The appointed Chairman has extensive experience in the mining industry, most recently serving as a Chairman on IGO’s (ASX:IGO) board.
Nossal has experience in strategy and business development for mining companies. He previously held senior roles at Newcrest Mining, MMG (HKG:1208), and WMC Resources.
Former Chairman Kleinhempel says EQ Resources’ board is continuing to evolve in-line with the global tungsten market.
“We began this transformation in 2025, and I am pleased to welcome Michael to the board,” Kleinhempel says.
“His deep mining industry experience will be valuable to EQR as we assess the strategic optionality and growth potential provided by the current market environment in tungsten.
“I look forward to working with Michael as the company continues to add the right ingredients for long-term value creation.”
Nossal says he is excited to join the company at an “important stage” for development.
“The current board led by Oliver and new management led by Craig Bradshaw have done an incredible job of transforming the assets and strengthening the balance sheet,” Nossal says.
“This leaves EQR poised to grow just as market conditions for tungsten start to reflect the positive underlying fundamentals.
“I look forward to working with this board and management to continue EQR’s transformation and deliver value to all our stakeholders.”
EQ Resources says it expects to face further board changes in the coming months.
EQ Resources is a tungsten mining company focused on sustainable mining and processing practices.
