EQ Resources (ASX:EQR) has hit new weekly production records this month at both of its tungsten operations at Mt Carbine in Australia and its Saloro operation in Spain.
At Mt Carbine in Queensland, production hit 70.4 tonnes of 50% tungsten oxide concentrate in a seven-day period, with a daily record of 13.6 tonnes of 50% tungsten oxide concentrate.
EQ, which has a market capitalisation of $92.91 million, says the 16% improvement in weekly production at Mt Carbine was driven by higher-grade ore delivered from the Andy White open pit and the upgrade to the XRT Sorter #2, which yielded higher throughput.
At Saloro, the company achieved a weekly production record of 50 tonnes of 50% tungsten oxide-equivalent concentrate at the start of June.
CEO Kevin MacNeill says Mt Carbine faced a rebuild of the main screen, allowing the company to implement the upgrade of one of its XRF sorters.
“Technology is evolving quickly and given our good relationship with TOMRA and considering that we just commissioned the new generation sorters at Saloro, we could finish the upgrade in less than a week,” he says.
“Our team at Saloro also made significant progress and so far delivered the improvement program on time and with the expected results. We have seen a strong start into June with a weekly production record.
“Increasing production comes at a time of increasing prices, with a 10% price increase throughout the June quarter so far.”
The company says its debottlenecking program at the Saloro processing plant is scheduled to be completed by the end of the September quarter.
Plant improvements implemented to date include the crushing and screening circuit, modification of jig ragging, spiral circuit optimisation, and a rearrangement of the shaking table circuit to capture a higher proportion of fine scheelite previously lost in the tailings stream.
