Enterprise Metals (ASX: ENT) reports that it has identified elevated lithium levels from orientation soil sampling at the Matheson Pegmatite on the Bingin Peninsula in Bullfinch North, Western Australia.
Provisional Lithium Index pXRF results for 16 shallow soil samples collected over the pegmatite detected elevated Li values between 65ppm and 106ppm. In addition, 11 of 16 samples reported Li values >= 50ppm.
The samples, which weighed between 1 to 2kg, were collected from depths of approximately 20cm. Of these, around 250 grams were screened off and sent to Portable Spectral Services in Perth for pXRF analysis.
Enterprise holds “Option to Purchase 100%” agreements over a contiguous block of Bullfinch North tenements currently held by Nickgraph Pty Ltd and Peter Gianni.

The Matheson Pegmatite is located close to the Bingin-Maries Find gold workings, which are closely associated with a network of pegmatite intrusive bodies which were not explored or analysed for lithium by previous explorers.
The company notes that the pegmatites display both dyke-like and complex shapes. This pegmatite swarm was first identified by geologist R.S. Matheson in 1939 while mapping Bingin-Maries.

Earl Grey is described as being a pegmatite with an albite-spodumene-quartz-microcline dominated composition, with accessory muscovite, biotite, petalite, and tourmaline.
The company is now planning a systematic soil-sampling program over the Matheson Pegmatite, while orientation soil sampling across two quartz scree areas is underway, guided by GeoEye imagery.
