Encounter Resources lines up further drilling at Aileron Project, WA

Encounter Resources (ASX:ENR) has planned a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program to be carried out between August and October 2023 at its Aileron Project in Western Australia.

The program will include the testing of the density targets identified north of WA1 Resources’ (ASX:WA1) Luni discovery, additional pattern RC drilling at the Caird, Crean, and Worsley targets, and initial RC drilling at the Eastern Gravity Anomalies.

Encounter says this will take place once a heritage survey has been completed on the Eastern Gravity Anomalies, which is scheduled for July 2023.

This announcement comes after Encounter received the data from its final Falcon gravity survey, which enhanced and clarified targets identified within the more-than-100km-wide Aileron Project.

Commenting on the final survey results, Encounter Resources Managing Director Will Robinson says: “The project-wide Falcon gravity survey provides a fundamental dataset to target IOCG and carbonatite-hosted critical mineral deposits in the West Arunta region.

The survey area north of the Luni discovery by WA1 Resources has resolved into a suite of structurally complex density anomalies interpreted as potential alkaline intrusions”

The survey area north of the Luni discovery by WA1 Resources has resolved into a suite of structurally complex density anomalies interpreted as potential alkaline intrusions. These features will be tested in an RC drill program planned for August-October 2023, along with additional drilling at Caird, Crean, and Worsley.

Further east, 3 standout density features have been prioritised as highly prospective for carbonatite-hosted critical minerals and base metals with surface geochemistry, and possibly RC drilling, planned for later in 2023.”

Encounter’s share price has spiked 8.33% to $0.26 as of 3:21pm AEST.

The company also notes that diamond drilling is progressing at the Caird, Crean, and Worsley targets, with 4 planned holes expected to be completed in June 2023 and a fifth hole added to the program.

The first assays from 6 RC pre-collar holes at Caird and Crean are expected to be received later this month, with the assays from the diamond holes to be received in the September quarter.

Encounter Resources is an ASX-listed mineral exploration company with a primary focus on discovering major copper-dominant deposits in Australia. The company owns a large portfolio of assets in Australia’s ‘most exciting’ mineral provinces that are prospective for copper, rare earths, and lithium.
